Can I bypass the driving restrictions on my car dvd player?

Have a 07 Cadillac DTS that will play a dvd when in park but not while driveing. Is there anyway around this to be able to play a dvd while driveing

  1. Probably not.. but you may want to check the manual.. good luck.
  2. yes. i have done this many times. on the back of the head unit their is a yellow wire the is for the parking break take this wire and butt connect it to another wire and run the to a toggle switch a 2 way toggle switch witch is just on off then run the other side of the switch run that to ground and when you go to put in a dvd and you get the warning to use the parking break flip the switch. i have done many different type's and none of them have had the same pattern one is on off on off then wait 15 seconds one was just off on look in you handy dandy owners guide lol some times it will tell you how
  3. There should be a code you can enter in your unit. Go on ebay and search your car's or system's bypass code and you prob can get it for 1-2 dollars.
  4. it is not that simple but there is a module that will unlock all the restrictions follow this link http://www.coastaletech.com/AMAZING_GM_LOCKPICKS.htm
  5. The answer from "not an email address" is the best one. This is just additional information. Only one recommended change. If you use one of the magnetic switches that are used for security systems to detect opened doors or windows - you can put one side inside your car's dash and one side (the side without wires) on the outside. For example, you could have the wired side under the cup-holder and the other side (it is just a magnet) could be tossed into the cup holder. You need something that will switch on and off because most parking brake systems look for the brake to be on... and then released. Simply grouding the wire (as many people suggest) would not work. By using the security switch, you have something easier to install and that has no impact on your interior trim. If you don't like the look of the switch's magnet you can use any that you like. Just remember that to turn on the DVD, you'll need to remove the magnet and then replace it to make the head unit think you pulled the parking brake.
