  1. 25,000-50,000
  2. I always get 100 thousand klm and 3 years......with good tires......
  3. stick a penny in the tread, if the tread touches near the head of LIncoln, you need tires.
  4. If you live in a climate with a lot of snow you should. FOURFROMMOORE
  5. Car tires can last anywhere from 20K miles to 80K miles depending on the quality, rubber compound and driving habits. Some higher priced speed rated tires have a softer rubber compound which gives them excellent traction for superior handling but they are lacking when it comes to longivity. The softer compound lets them wear out a lot quicker. In the same respect, a harder compound allows the tire to last longer but it lacks in traction and handling. These factors should be considered when purchasing new tires. Since your car is an '06 model with 28K miles on it, I'd say that it's getting pretty close to the time for new tires. My experience is that original equipment tires usually don't last much over 30 K miles. There is a wear indicator built into EVERY tire that's manufactured for street/highway use. If you look at the tread, somewhere in the grooves you'll see a spot where the groove is just a bit more shallow. When your tire wears down as far as the wear indicator, it's definately time for new ones. You'll still have some tread left, but using the tires after they're worn that much could be unsafe. I, personally, don't wait that long to get new tires, but that's just MY preferance.
  6. Great explanation Db! Here in TN, if your tires are at or below 3/32, and you have a stickler of a cop, you can actually get a ticket or fine! Buy a tread depth gauge at any auto parts store for under $2 to make sure. As for tires at 28k, that depends on your driving habits, and did you rotate, balance and have an alignment as needed? A Camry is a front wheel drive, the majority of the weight of the vehicle sits over the front tires, not to mention it "pulls" from the front as well. 28k on factory tires is fairly normal. ( I had to put tires on our Toyota Highlander [also front wheel drive] at 31K) Hope this helps!
  7. That depends on the type of tire. I've got a set of Kuhmo's for my car that will need replacement before they hit 1,000 miles. I have a set of Nokian i3's for my wife's car that should see 80,000 miles. And there's lots in between. In short, there is no answer to your question. Passenger car tires should be replaced when the tread depth reaches 4/32". If you not sure what yours are at go to a tire store and ask them to measure the tread for you.
  8. all depends on how you drive and the quality of the tire.
